Local Government (Break O'Day and Glamorgan-Spring Bay Councils Elections) Order 2009

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following order under section 268A(1A) of the Local Government Act 1993 .2 November 2009

1Short titleThis order may be cited as the Local Government (Break O’Day and Glamorgan-Spring Bay Councils Elections) Order 2009 . 2CommencementThis order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette. 3InterpretationThe Acts Interpretation Act 1931 applies to the interpretation of this order as if it were by-laws. 4Closing day for electionsThe day fixed as the closing day for the elections in respect of the Break O’Day Council and the Glamorgan-Spring Bay Council (which elections were postponed by the Local Government (Elections) Order 2009 ) is 22 December 2009. 5Legislation revokedThe legislation specified in Schedule 1 is revoked. EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order) This order –

(a) fixes 22 December 2009 as the closing day for elections in respect of the Break O’Day Council and the Glamorgan-Spring Bay Council; and (b) revokes a previous order postponing elections for those councils.
