This regulation may be cited as the Local Government (Areas) Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 1997 . ˙ Regulation amended 2. This regulation amends the LocalGovernment(Areas)Regulation 1995 . ˙ Amendment of pt 3, div 3 (Abolition of joint local governments) 3. Part 3, division 3, before section 11— insert— ‘ Subdivision A—Central Highlands Regional Library Service ’. ˙ Amendment of s 11 (Abolition of joint local government and its area—Act, s 115) 4. Section 11, heading— omit, insert— ‘ Abolition of Central Highlands Regional Library Service and its area—Act, s 115 ’. ˙ Amendment of s 12 (Apportionment of joint local government’s assets and liabilities) 5. Section 12, heading— omit, insert— ‘ Apportionment of Central Highlands Regional Library Service’s assets and liabilities ’. ˙ Insertion of new ss 13 and 14 6. After section 12—

s7 3 s7 Local Government (Areas) Amendment (No. 1) No. 22, 1997 insert— ‘ Subdivision B—Far North Queensland Joint Health Board ˙ ‘ Abolition of Far North Queensland Joint Health Board and its area—Act, s 115) ‘ 13. The Far North Queensland Joint Health Board and its area are abolished. ˙ ‘ Apportionment of Far North Queensland Joint Health Board’s assets and liabilities ‘ 14.(1) This section provides for the apportionment of the Far North Queensland Joint Health Board’s assets and liabilities among its component local governments. ‘ (2) The joint local government’s assets are apportioned in the following way— • Aurukun Shire Council—33 1 / 3 % • Cook Shire Council—33 1 / 3 % • Mornington Shire Council—33 1 / 3 %. ‘ (3) The joint local government’s liabilities are apportioned in the percentages specified in subsection (2).’. ˙ Amendment of sch 2 (Information about joint local governments) 7.
