s1 2 s6 Local Government Amendment (No. 1) No. 87, 1998 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Local Government Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 1998 . ˙ Regulation amended 2. This regulation amends the Local Government Regulation 1994 . ˙ Amendment of s 15 (Meaning of “related” to a councillor—Act, s 195(1)(b)) 3. Section 15(a), ‘, or the de facto spouse,’— omit. ˙ Amendment of s 39 (Meaning of “related” to a relevant employee—Act, s 730(1)(b) and (2)(c)) 4. Section 39(a), ‘, or the de facto spouse,’— omit. ˙ Amendment of s 44A (Local government entities—Act, s 761) 5. Section 44A— insert— ‘• Kubin Community Council’. ˙ Insertion of new s 44AB6. After section 44A— insert— ˙ ‘ Persons eligible for membership of the scheme—Act, s 772 ‘ 44AB. The spouse of a member is prescribed for section 772(1)(f) of the Act.’.

s7 3 s8 Local Government Amendment (No. 1) No. 87, 1998 ˙ Insertion of a new s 52 7. After section 51— insert— ‘ ˙ Numbering and renumbering of regulation ‘ 52. In the next reprint of this regulation produced under the Reprints Act1992 , the provisions of this regulation must be numbered and renumbered as permitted by the Reprints Act 1992 , section 43. 1 ˙ Amendment of sch 2 (Dictionary) 8. Schedule 2— insert— ‘ “spouse” , of a person (the “first person” ), means a person who— (a) is married to the first person; or (b) although not married to the first person, lives with the first person on a genuine domestic basis as the first person’s husband or wife.’.
