I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of Part 1 of Chapter 9 of the Local Government Act 1993, make the following Proclamation.

1      Name of Proclamation

This Proclamation is the Local Government Amendment (Amalgamations)
Proclamation 2016.

2      Commencement

This Proclamation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

1.1 Local Government (Bayside) Proclamation 2016
Clause 28 Calculation of notional general income for rating purposes
Omit “, but only for the 2016/2017 rating year” from clause 28 (2).

1.3 Local Government (Council Amalgamations) Proclamation 2016
[1] Clause 12 Administrators for new councils
Insert after clause 12 (5):
(5A) An Administrator who exercises any functions referred to in clause 8 is to be paid a fee for the exercise of those functions that is determined by the Minister and paid from the funds of the county council.

[2]      Clause 26 Calculation of notional general income for rating purposes

Omit “, but only for the 2016/2017 rating year” from clause 26 (2).

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to amend proclamations creating new council areas with respect to the
continuation of pre-existing rating and charges variations and to provide for the payment of fees to any
Administrator of a new council who exercises functions relating to a county council.
