Local Government Amendment Act 2006

An Act to amend the Local Government Act 1993

[Royal Assent 18 December 2006]

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Local Government Amendment Act 2006 . 2CommencementThis Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. 3Principal ActIn this Act, the Local Government Act 1993 is referred to as the Principal Act. 4Section 334 substituted Section 334 of the Principal Act is repealed and the following section is substituted: 334Director of Local Government The Governor may appoint a State Service officer or State Service employee to be Director of Local Government and that officer or employee may hold the office of Director of Local Government in conjunction with State Service employment.
