LOCAL GOVERNMENT AMENDMENT ACT 1997 NO 61—

PROCLAMATION

(L.S.) GORDON SAMUELS, Governor.

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Local Government Amendment Act 1997, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 18 July 1997 as the day on which that Act (except Schedule 1 [22], [26], [38] and [39] and Schedule 2.1) commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence certain provisions of the Act on 18

July 1997.

Schedule 1 [22] (dealing with the catching up of income lost due to reductions in valuation) and [26] (dealing with mixed development rating) are taken to have commenced on 1 July 1997.

Schedule 1 [38] and [39] (dealing with savings and transitional provisions)

commenced on the date of assent.

Schedule 2.1 amends the Bush Fires Act 1949. That Act is to be repealed by the Rural

Fires Act 1997.
