LOCAL GOVERNMENT AMENDMENT ACT 1996 NO 69—

PROCLAMATION

(L.S.) GORDON SAMUELS, Governor.

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South

Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 ( 1 ) of the Local Government Amendment Act 1996, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 1997 as the day on which Schedule 1 to that Act commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this proclamation is to commence the uncommenced provisions of the

Local Government Amendment Act 1996.

The provisions concerned are those relating to essential fire and other safety measures.
