LOCAL GOVERNMENT AMENDMENT ACT 1996 NO 69—
PROCLAMATION
(L.S.) G. SAMUELS, Governor.
I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 ( l ) of the Local Government Amendment Act 1996, do, by this my Proclamation:
| (a) appoint 11 November 1996 as the day on which sections 1, 2 and | 3 of |
that Act, and Schedule 2 [4] and [5] and [11]–[16], Schedule 3 (except for Schedule 3 [18], [19] and [20]) and Schedule 4 (except for Schedule 4 [28] and [29]) to that Act, commence, and
| (b) | appoint 1 June 1997 as the day on which Schedule 2 [1]-[3] and [6]-[10] to that Act commences. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE
Schedule 4 [28] and [29] to the Local Government Amendment Act 1996 commenced on the date of assent to that Act, and Schedule 3 [18], [19] and [20] are taken to have commenced on 1 July 1993 (the date of the commencement of the Local Government Act 1993).
The object of this Proclamation is to commence all the uncommenced provisions of the Local Government Amendment Act 1996 other than those relating to essential fire and other safety measures (Schedule 1).
