REGULATIONS 1996

Made by the Lieutenant-Governor and deputy of the Governor in Executive

Council.

Citation

1.     These regulations may be cited as the Local Government (Administration)

Amendment Regulations 1996.

Principal regulations

2. In these regulations the Local Government (Administration)

Regulations 1996* are referred to as the principal regulations.

Regulation 35A inserted

3.     After regulation 35 of the principal regulations the following regulation is

Transitional provision extending meaning of "elector" in relation to electors' meetings — s. 9.71

35A. (1) For the purposes of Part 5, Division 2, Subdivision 4 of the Act, a person who would be eligible to be registered as an elector under the former provisions, if they were still in force, is to be regarded as being an elector even if that person is not an elector as defined in sections 1.4 and 5.26.

(2) In subregulation (1)
"former provisions" means the Local Government Act 1960 as in force immediately before the day of coming into operation of the Act.
