LOCAL GOVERNMENT (No. 4).
No. 82 of 1965.
AN ACT to amend the Local Government Act,
1960-1965.
[Assented to 7th December, 1965.]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
Short title
| and citation. | 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Local |
Government Act Amendment Act (No. 4), 1965.
| (2) | In this Act the Local Government Act, 1960- |
1965, is referred to as the principal Act.
(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Local Government Act, 1960-1965.

| 2. Section seventy of the principal Act is | snended. | 2 |
amended
| (a) | by adding after the section number "70.", the subsection designation, "(1)"; |
| (b) | by inserting after the word, "is" in line six of subsection (1), the passage, ", unless some other day in that month is appointed in pursuance of subsection (2) of this section,"; and |
| (c) | by adding the following subsection— |
(2) Where the fourth Saturday in May
of a year is
| (a) | a day appointed as polling day for an election of the Senate or a general election of the House of Representatives of the Parlia- ment of the Commonwealth; or |
| (b) | a day fixed for the taking of the votes of electors upon a proposed law for the alteration of the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act, |
the Governor may, by proclamation published in the Government Gazette, appoint another Saturday in May of that year, being a Saturday before the fourth Saturday of that month, to be the day for the holding of the annual municipal elections to be held in that year. .
