His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Local Government Act 1993.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to provide for the adoption in New South
Wales of a revised version of the Building Code of Australia.

This Regulation is made under the Local Government Act 1993, including section 748 (the general regulation making power) and clause 2 of Schedule 7 (which deals with savings, transitional and other provisions consequent on the enactment of that Act).

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Local Government (Savings and

Transitional) Amendment (Building Code) Regulation 1998.

2 Amendment of Local Government (Savings and Transitional) Regulation 1993

The Local Government (Savings and Transitional) Regulation

1993 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

3 Notes

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

Schedule 1 Amendments

(Clause 2)

[1] Clause 5 Preservation of records

Omit "before 1 July 1997" wherever occurring from clause 5 ( 6 ) (a )
and (b).
lnsert instead "before I January 1998".

[2]        Clause 49A Definitions (as inserted by Government Gazette No 68 of 27.6.97 at pp 4821—4864)

Omit "before 1 J u l y 1 9 9 7 " wherever occurring from paragraphs ( a )

and ( b ) of the definition of BCA 1996 in clause 49A

Insert instead "before 1 January 1998".
