His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Local Government Act 1993.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to increase from $274 to $281 the maximum amount of the minimum ordinary rate that a council may, without special Ministerial approval, make under section 548 of the Local Government Act 1993. This Regulation commences on 1 July 1996.
This Regulation is made under the Local Government Act 1993, including section 548, particularly section 548 (3) (a), section 748 (the general-regulation making power) and item 20 of Schedule 6 to the Act.

2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on 1 July 1996.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.
4 Amendment of clause 6A of Local Government (Rates and Charges) Regulation 1993
Clause 6A of the Local Government (Rates and Charges) Regulation 1993 is amended by omitting the matter “$274” and by inserting instead the matter “$281”.
