His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Local Government Act 1993.

The object of this Regulation is to include in the classes of pensioners who are eligible for certain pensioner concessions under the Local Government Act 1993, persons who receive a general rate of pension adjusted for extreme disablement under the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986.
This Regulation is made under the Local Government Act 1993, including the provision defining eligible pensioner in the Dictionary to the Act and section 748 (the general regulation-making power).

The Local Government (Rates and Charges) Regulation 1993 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

(Clause 2)

Clause 15 Eligible pensioners for the purposes of determining pensioner concessions—prescribed classes

Omit clause 15 (c) . Insert instead:

(c) persons who receive a general rate of pension adjusted for extreme disablement under section 22 (4) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 of the Commonwealth, or a special rate of pension under section 24 of that Act.
