Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Local Government Act 1993.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to require councils, in relation to bathing control notices, to complywith the 2002 edition of the Australian Standard entitled “Design and Application of Water Safety Signs” rather than the 1985 edition.

This Regulation is made under the Local Government Act 1993, including section 748 (the general regulation-making power).

1     Name of Regulation

(Bathing Control Notices) Regulation 2002.

The Local Government (General) Regulation 1999 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

Clause 41 Bathing control notices

Omit “AS 2416—1985, as published by Standards Australia on 7
June 1985” from the definition of AS 2416 in clause 41 (3).
Insert instead “AS 2416—2002, as published by Standards Australia on 7

February 2002”.
