His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Local Government Act 1993.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to allow local councils to grant licences in respect of community land to owners or occupiers of residential allotments on adjoining land for the short-term, casual purpose of transporting building materials and equipment needed in relation to building or landscaping work being carried out on the residential allotments, and to remove consequential waste, until 31 December 2000.

This Regulation is made under the Local Government Act 1993, including sections 46, 47A and 748 (the general regulation-making power).

Clause 6JF Leases, licences and other estates in respect of community land

Omit clause 6JF (3) and (4). Insert instead:

For the purposes of section 46 (1) (b) (iii) of the Act, the use of community land to transport building materials and equipment required in relation to building or landscaping work that is to be, or is being, carried out on land adjoining the community land, and to remove waste that is consequential on such work, until 31 December 2000, is a prescribed short-term, casual purpose.
