His Excellency the Governor, with the ad vice of the Exec utive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Local Government Act 1993.

The object of this Regulation is to add a question to the nomination papers for local government elections concerning whether the candidate identifies as an Aboriginal or a Torres Strait Islander, in order to obtain statistical information about the participation of Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders
in local government elections.
This Regulation is made under the Local Government Act 1993, including section 748 (the general regulation-making power) and item 14 of Schedule 6 (Matters with respect to which regulations may be made).

This Regulation is the Local Government (Elections) Amendment
(Statistical Information) Regulation 1999.

  1. Amendment of Local Government (Elections) Regulation 1998

    The Local Government (Elections) Regulation 1998 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.
