His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Local Government Act 1993.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to provide for the adoption in New South

Wales of a revised version of the Building Code of Australia.

This Regulation is made under the Local Government Act 1993, including section 748 (the general regulation making power) and clause 8 of Schedule 6.

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Local Government (Approvals)
Amendment (Building Code) Regulation 1998.

2 Amendment of Local Government (Approvals) Regulation 1993

The Local Government (Approvals) Regulation 1993 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

Schedule 1 Amendment

(Clause 2)

Clause 4	Definitions
Omit “before 1 July 1997” wherever occurring from paragraphs (a)
and (b) of the definition of Building Code of Australia in clause 4 (1). Insert instead “before 1 January 1998”.
