His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Local Government Act 1993.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to amend various regulations under the Local Government Act 1993 so that references to the Building Code of Australia will have the same meanings as they have in the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. In that Act, references to the Code are to extend to all amendments and variations that are at any time made or approved by the Australian Building Codes Board. At present, those references extend only to amendments and variations made or approved by that Board before 1 July 1999. This Regulation is made under the Local Government Act 1993, including section 748 (the general power to make regulations).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Local Government Amendment (Building

Code of Australia) Regulation 1999.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 January 2000.

3 Amendment of Local Government (Approvals) Regulation 1999

The Local Government (Approvals) Regulation 1999 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

4 Amendment of Local Government (Orders) Regulation 1999

The Local Government (Orders) Regulation 1999 is amended as set out in Schedule 2.

5 Amendment of Local Government (Caravan Parks, Camping

Grounds and Moveable Dwellings) Regulation 1995

The Local Government (Caravan Parks, Camping Grounds and Moveable Dwellings) Regulation 1995 is amended as set out in Schedule 3.

6 Amendment of Local Government (Manufactured Home Estates and Manufactured Homes) Regulation 1995

The Local Government (Manufactured Home Estates and Manufactured Homes) Regulation 1995 is amended as set out in Schedule 4.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

Omit the definition of Building Code of Australia from clause 3 (1).
Insert instead:

Building Code of Australia has the same meaning as it has in the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

Clause 9 Relevant standards for places of shared accommodation

Omit the definition of Building Code of Australia from clause 9 (2).
Insert instead:
