LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1919 - ORDINANCE

(Relating to the supply and fixing of electrical fittings)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Local Government Act 1919, has been pleased to make the Ordinance set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Ordinance commences on 1 May 1990.

Amendment

2. Ordinance No. 54 under the Local Government Act 1919 is

amended:

(a) by omitting clause 5 (a) and by inserting instead the following

subclause:

(a) The Council is to supply and fix meters and such other instruments as are necessary for ascertaining the quantity of electricity supplied by the Council.

(b) by omitting clause 5 (c) and by inserting instead the following subclause:

(c) The Council may require the applicant:

(i)        to supply and fix the service fuses, neutral link and other service equipment necessary and incidental to

the provision of a supply of electricity or to make provision for their supply, mounting and installation by the Council; and

(ii)        to make such provision as is necessary for the installation and attachment of its service lines and for the mounting and installation of its metering equipment.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Ordinance is to amend Ordinance No. 54 so that electricity councils may require an applicant (for the supply of electricity) to supply and fix service fuses, neutral links and other service equipment.
