(Relating to the obstruction of natural watercourses)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Local Government Act 1919, has been pleased to make the Ordinance set forth hereunder.

Ordinance No. 37A under the Local Government Act 1919 is amended by omitting from Schedule 1 the word “Strathfield.”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Ordinance No. 37A under the Local Government Act 1919 enables certain councils to order that obstructions in natural watercourses that could cause the watercourses to become or be likely to become menaces to the safety of life or property from flood be removed. The Ordinance applies to all cities, municipalities and shires other than those specified in Schedule 1 to the Ordinance. The object of this Ordinance is to amend Ordinance No. 37A so that Strathfield Municipality may order the removal of such obstructions.
