LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1919 - ORDINANCE

(Relating to the muzzling of dogs in Council markets)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Local Government Act 1919, has been pleased to make the Ordinance set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Ordinance commences on 1 July 1990.

Amendment

2. Ordinance No. 65 under the Local Government Act 1919 is

amended by inserting after clause 8 (d) the following subclause:

(e) A person, being the owner of a dog or a person in charge or control of a dog, must ensure that the dog is securely muzzled while the dog is in the Council’s markets.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Ordinance is to provide that a person who is the owner of a dog or a person in charge or control of a dog must ensure that the dog is securely muzzled while it is in a public cattle market.
