(Relating to penalty notices for parking offences in free parking areas

provided by councils)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Local Government Act 1919, has been pleased to make the Ordinance set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Ordinance commences on 15 August 1992.

Amendment

2. Ordinance No. 34C under the Local Government Act 1919 is amended by omitting from clause 8 the matter “$45” and by inserting instead the matter “$50”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Ordinance is to increase, from $45 to $50, the amount of penalty for an offence against Ordinance No. 34C (e.g. standing in a free parking area provided by a council for longer than the maximum period allowed or standing in a space designated for use by disabled persons) that is dealt with by penalty notice.
