GUARANTEE ACT AND AUDIT ACTS [ASSENTED TO 11TH DECEMBER, 1936.] AMENDMENT ACT OF 1936. B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- PART I.- PRELIMINARY. PART I.-PRELIMINARY. Short title 1. This Act may be cited as "The Local Bodies' and . Loans Guarantee Act and Audit Acts Amendment Act of construction 1936" ' of Act. • Parts of Act. 2. ACT OF 1923." 3. (I.) t"The Local Bodies' Loans Guarantee Act of Construction *1923" shall in this Part of this Act be referred to as the of Part rr. Principal Act; this Part of this Act shall be read as one with such Principal Act. (2.) Such Principal Act as amended by this Part Collective of this Act may be collectively cited as t"The Local title. Bodies' Loans Guarantee Acts, 1923 to 1936." Amendments of the Principal Act. 4. In the definition of "Local body" in section Amendment two of the Principal Act the words "or to borrow of s. 2. money from or obtain advances from or make financial . arrangements with any bank or other financial institution" are repealed and the words " or to borrow money or to obtain advances or to· make financial arrangements otherwise than from or with the Governor in Council or the Treasurer" are inserted in lieu thereof. 5. Section three of. the Principal Act is amended, as Amendment fDllows:- of s. 3. In paragraph (i.) of the said section, all words from and including the words·" may authorise" to the end of the said paragraph are repealed, and the following words are inserted in lieu thereof, namely :-" may authorise such local body to obtain such advance by way of loan from any person or body corporate or unincorporate (hereinafter referred to as " the lender "), and guarantee.to the lender thereof the amount or any part of the amount so borrowed with interest at the agreed rate." Paragraph (ii.) is repealed and the following new paragraph is inserted in lieu thereof- "(ii.) Any local body is authorised to borrow money, or to obtain advances, or to make financial arrangements otherwise than from or with the Governor in Council or the Treasurer, and such local body is unable to offer sufficient security for a loan, the Treasurer on behalf of the Government * Verbally corrected: "1933" in Gazette, but see section 2, and sub- section (2) of section 3 of this Act indicating" 1923." t 14 Gea. This Act may be cited as " The Legitimation Act Short title. Amendment Act of 1936," and shall be read as one with t" The Legitimation Act of 1899," herein referred to as the Principal Act. The Principal Act and this Act may collectively be cited as " The Legitimation Acts, 1899 to 1936." 2. The Principal Act is hereby amended by the New s. 7A. insertion therein, after. section seven, of the following new section numbered 7 A, that is to say:- "[7A.] (1.)
