An Act to author ise the ra is ing of a loan for the Publ ic Service of the Colony, and for other purposes. [3rd December, 1900.]

1 . I t shall be lawful for the Governor to raise by the sale of
Debentures or the issue of Inscribed Stock, secured upon the Consoli dated Revenue F u n d of the Colony, and bearing interest at a ra te not exceeding four per centum per annum, such sums of money not exceed
ing in the whole the sum of Two million seven hundred and three
thousand three hundred and eighty-five pounds, as a re respectively set
against the following Public Works and Services, that is to say:—

2. The Loans so author ised as aforesaid for pe rmanent and repro ductive works and repayment of loans may be negotiated wholly or in p a r t in the form of Debentures or Inscribed Stock in the Colony or in London a t such t imes and for such amounts as may be directed by the Governor.
3. Any Stock issued within the Colony under this Act shall be styled " New South Wales Funded S tock , " and shall, if sold otherwise than by tender, be purchasable at the T reasu ry upon any lawful day.
4. The provisions of the Funded Stock Act of 1892 re la t ing to the
method of inscript ion and t rans fe r of Stock, and the regulat ions under such Act, and the forms prescr ibed in the said regulat ions, a re hereby declared to be applicable to, and shall be followed and used, muta t i s mutandis , in connection with, Stock issued within the Colony under the provisions of this Act.
5. In respect of any Stock issued in London under the provisions of this Act, the Governor may make regulat ions, not being inconsistent with the provisions of the Inscribed Stock Act of 1883, for ca r ry ing this Act into effect; and such regulat ions shall be published in the Gazette and laid before Pa r l i amen t within fourteen days of the publication thereof, if Pa r l i amen t be then sit t ing, and if Pa r l i amen t be not sit t ing, then within fourteen days of the commencement of the next session
