| WH E R E A S i t is expedient to author ize t he Government to borrow certain sums of money amoun t ing in t he whole to F o u r | hundred and seven thousand one hundred and fifty-one pounds |
| th i r t een shillings and seven-pence for the several purposes hereinafter specified Be i t therefore enacted by the Queen 's Most Exce l l en t Majesty by and wi th t he advice and consent of t he Legislative Council and Legislat ive Assembly of N e w South Wales in Par l i ament assembled and by t h e au thor i ty of the same as follows :— |
1. It shall be lawful for the Governor with the advice of the
Execu t ive Council to raise by t he sale of debentures secured upon the Consolidated Revenue F u n d of t he Colony and bear ing interest a t a ra te no t exceeding five per c e n t u m per a n n u m such several sums of

seven thousand one hund red and fifty-one pounds th i r t een shil l ings and seven-pence as may be required for t he following several purposes not exceeding for t he same respectively t h e several sums respectively set against such purposes :—

2. Al l sums borrowed under this Ac t shall be paid to t he
Colonial Treasurer and shall be by h i m placed to t he credit of t h e
| purposes for which the same shall have been so raised and shall be | Consolidated Revenue F u n d and shall be applied towards t h e respective |
accounted for in the same m a n n e r as if they had formed par t of the
cu r ren t annua l Revenue of t he Colony. |
3 . The said Treasurer shall issue and pay the said several sums
| for t he purposes hereinbefore ment ioned | in such m a n n e r | and in such |
proport ions as t he Governor by any war ran t or order in wr i t ing unde r his hand and directed to the said Treasurer shall from t ime to t ime order and direct A n d the payments so to be made shall be charged upon and payable out of the sums so borrowed as aforesaid.
4. The said Treasurer shall in his accounts from t ime to t ime
be allowed credit for every sum of money paid by h i m in pursuance of such war ran t or order in wr i t ing as aforesaid A n d the receipt of each and every person to w h o m the same shall be so paid shall be a full and valid discharge to t he said Treasurer in passing his said accounts for each sum there in ment ioned and he shall receive credit for the same accordingly.
5. This Ac t may be cited as t h e " Loan Ac t of 1 8 7 0 . "
