No. 47 of 1923.

AN ACT to authorise the raising of a sum of Three million seven hundred and sixty-three thousand pounds by Loan for the construction of certain Public Works, the Re-appropriation of certain Loan moneys, and the issue of certain Treasury Bills, and for purposes inci- dental thereto.

HEREAS it is expedient to authorise the raising, by Preamble.

thousand pounds for the several purposes hereinafter mentioned, and the Re-appropriation of certain Loan moneys : Be it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

1.    This Act may be cited for all purposes as the Loan Short tub.

Power to issue

The Colonial Treasurer is hereby authorised to issue Bank Treasury Bills for arrears of interest accrued upon an outstanding debt of Three Million One Hundred Thousand Pounds, with a currency of not more than ten years, and to be issued in accordance with the Treasury Bills Act, 1893, but not subject to any Loan Act. The amount payable under such Treasury Bills shall, at maturity, become a charge on the Consolidated Revenue Fund, which is hereby appropriated accordingly.
