Livestock Management Act 2010

Livestock Management Amendment Regulations 2013

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Livestock Management Regulations 2011 to prescribe further livestock management standards.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 63 of the Livestock Management Act 2010.

3Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Livestock Management Regulations 2011[1] are called the Principal Regulations.

4Definitions

For regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations substitute

"3   Definitions

In these Regulations—

Land Transport Standard means the Australian Animal Welfare Standards and Guidelines—Land Transport of Livestock, published on 21 September 2012;

Pig Welfare Standard means the Victorian Standards and Guidelines for the Welfare of Pigs, Revision One 2012, published on 14 March 2012.

5Livestock management standards

For regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations substitute

5Livestock management standards"

For the purposes of sections 6 and 46 of the Act the following livestock management standards are prescribed—

(a)the Land Transport Standard; and

(b)the Pig Welfare Standard.".
