Part 1—Preliminary

1—Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Livestock (Fees) Variation Regulations 2013.

2—Commencement

These regulations will come into operation on 1 July 2013.

3—Variation provisions

In these regulations, a provision under a heading referring to the variation of specified regulations varies the regulations so specified.

Schedule 1—delete the Schedule and substitute:

Schedule 1—Fees

Application for registration or renewal of registration as a beekeeper

No fee is payable if the bees are kept for the purposes of instruction in an educational institution approved by the Chief Inspector.

Application for registration or renewal of registration under section 17 of the Act (other than as a beekeeper)

$76.00

If the term for which registration is to be granted or renewed is less than or more than 24 months, a pro rata adjustment is to be made to the amount of the fee by applying the proportion that the number of whole months in the term bears to 24 months.

No registration fee is payable if—

    (a)    the application is accompanied by an application for the allocation or renewal of a property identification code for the land where the livestock are or are to be kept; and

    (b)    the proposed term of registration is no longer than the proposed term for which the property identification code will be active; and

    (c)     a fee is payable for the application for the allocation or renewal of the property identification code that is not less than the fee that would be payable for registration apart from this provision.

Application for registration or renewal of registration of an artificial breeding centre

(The same fee applies in relation to an applicant for, or for renewal of, registration authorising more than 1 category of artificial breeding procedure).

Application for allocation or renewal of property identification code—for each code

The Chief Inspector may waive or reduce a fee if the Chief Inspector considers it appropriate in the circumstances.

As required by section 10AA(2) of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1978, the Minister has certified that, in the Minister's opinion, it is necessary or appropriate that these regulations come into operation as set out in these regulations.
