amount ing respectively to six thousand five hundred pounds, five hundred	WH E R E A S the council of the municipal distr ict of Liverpool has under the au thor i ty of var ious s ta tu tes borrowed three sums
pounds, and five thousand pounds respectively, which sums are still owing by the said council, and whereas it is desirable tha t the said loans be consolidated and tha t author i ty be given to the said council to borrow a sum of twelve thousand pounds for the purpose of repaying the said loans : Be it therefore enacted by the Queen 's Most Excellent Majesty, by

by and with the advice and consent of the Legislat ive Council and Legis­ lative Assembly of New South Wales in Pa r l i amen t assembled, and by the au thor i ty of the same, as follows:—

1. The council of the municipal distr ict of Liverpool may borrow by debentures , mor tgage , or otherwise on the credit of any land, personal p roper ty , or annual revenues, actual or prospective, belonging to the body corporate of the said municipal dis tr ict any sum or sums in one or more amounts not exceeding in the whole twelve thousand pounds for the purpose of repaying the following loans, namely—

(a)	six thousand five hundred pounds secured by mortgage and bond, dated the four th day of June , one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine;
(b)	five hundred pounds secured by mortgage, dated the fourth day of June , one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one; and
(c)	five thousand pounds secured by mortgage and bond, dated the four th day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

And the provisions of P a r t XII, Division 1, of the Municipalit ies Act, 1897, re la t ing to loans and securities made and given thereunder shall apply to and in respect of loans and securit ies made and given under this Act.

2. This Act may be cited as the " Liverpool Municipal Loan Act,

1900 ."
