Slaughter Levy Regulations2 (Amendment)
I, THE
GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of
the Federal Executive Council and after taking into consideration the
recommendations made to the Minister of State for Primary Industry by the
Australian Meat and Live-stock Corporation with respect to amounts for the
purposes of paragraphs 6 (1) (b), 6a
(1) (b), 6b (1) (b), 6c (1) (b), 6d (1) (b), 6e
(1) (b) and 6f (1) (b) of the Live-stock Slaughter Levy Act 1964, hereby
make the following Regulations under that Act.

Commencement
1. These Regulations shall
come into operation on 1 September 1984.
Principal
Regulations
2. In these Regulations, “Principal
Regulations” means the Live-stock Slaughter Levy Regulations.
Amount
per head of cattle slaughtered
3. Regulation 4 of the
Principal Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (2) and
substituting the following sub-regulation:
“(2)
For the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (b) of the Act, the amount per head of
cattle slaughtered is 50 cents.”.
Amount
per head of sheep slaughtered
4. Regulation 5 of the
Principal Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (2) and
substituting the following sub-regulation:
“(2)
For the purposes of paragraph 6a
(1) (b) of the Act, the amount per head of sheep slaughtered is 5 cents.”.
Amount
per head of lambs slaughtered
5. Regulation 6 of the
Principal Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (2) and
substituting the following sub-regulation:
“(2)
For the purposes of paragraph 6b
(1) (b) of the Act, the amount per head of lambs slaughtered is 5 cents.”.
Amount
per head of buffaloes slaughtered
6. Regulation 6a of the Principal Regulations is
amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2) “35 cents” and substituting “50
cents”.
Amount
per head of goats slaughtered
7. Regulation 7 of the
Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2) “3.33
cents” and substituting “5 cents”.
Amount
per head of calves slaughtered
8. Regulation 8 of the
Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2) “9 cents”
and substituting “13 cents”.
Amount
per head of bobby calves slaughtered
9. Regulation 9 of the
Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2) “2.5 cents”
and substituting “3.5 cents”.
