Live-stock Slaughter Levy Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, being advice that has taken into consideration the recommendations furnished to the Minister of State for Primary Industry by the Australian Meat and Live-stock Corporation with respect to amounts for the purposes of paragraphs 6 (1) (a), 6a (1) (a), 6b (1) (a), 6c (1) (a), 6e (1) (a) and 6f (1) (a) of the Live-stock Slaughter Levy Act 1964, hereby make the following Regulations under that Act.

Commencement

1. (1) Regulations 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 shall come into operation on 1 November 1986.

(2) Regulation 10 shall come into operation on 1 December 1986.

Principal Regulations

2.In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Live-stock Slaughter Levy Regulations.

Amount per head of cattle slaughtered

3. Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (1).

 

Amount per head of sheep slaughtered

4. Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (1).

Amount per head of lambs slaughtered

5. Regulation 6 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (1).

Amount per head of buffaloes slaughtered

6. Regulation 6aof the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (1).

Amount per head of calves slaughtered

7. Regulation 8 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (1).

Amount per head of bobby calves slaughtered

8. Regulation 9 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (1).

9. The Principal Regulations are amended by adding at the end the following regulation and Schedule:

Amount of levy for the purposes of paragraphs 6 (1) (a), 6a (1) (a), 6b (1) (a), 6c (1) (a), 6e (1) (a) and 6f (1) (a) of the Act

“10. For the purposes of the paragraph of the Act specified in an item in the Schedule, the amount specified in that item is the amount per head of the type of live-stock specified in that item.

AMOUNTS PER HEAD OF LEVY ON THE SLAUGHTER OF LIVE-STOCK FOR THE PURPOSES OF PARAGRAPHS 6 (1) (a), 6a (1) (a), 6b (1) (a), 6c (1) (a), 6e (1) (a) AND 6f (1) (a) OF THE ACT

Schedule

10. The Schedule to the Principal Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from Items 1 and 4 “$2.40” and substituting “$3.30”;

(b) by omitting from Item 5 “86.4” and substituting “118.8”; and

(c) by omitting from Item 6 “24” and substituting “33”.
