Export Charge Amendment Act 1982

An Act to amend the Live-stock Export Charge Act 1977
[Assented to 24 September 1982]
BE IT ENACTED by the Queen, and the Senate and
the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:
Short title, &c.
1. (1)
This Act may be cited as the Live-stock Export Charge Amendment Act 1982.
(2) The Live-stock Export Charge
Act 19771 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.
Commencement
2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives
the Royal Assent.
Interpretation
3. Section 4 of the Principal Act is amended—
(a) by omitting the definition of “Exporter and
Abattoir Consultative Group”; and
(b) by inserting after the definition of
“live-stock” the following definition:
“‘Live-stock Exporters Consultative Group’
means the Live-stock Exporters Consultative Group established by section 41 of
the Australian Meat and Live-stock
Corporation Act 1977;”.
Rate of charge on export of cattle
4. Section 7 of the Principal Act is amended—
(a) by omitting from paragraph (1) (c) “$3.00”
and substituting “$5.00”; and
(b) by omitting from sub-section (2) “$1.50”
and substituting “$3.00”.
Rate of charge on export of sheep
5. Section 8 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from
sub-section (2) “15” and substituting “30”.
Rate of charge on export of lambs
6. Section 9 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from
sub-section (2) “15” and substituting “30”.
Rate of charge on export of buffaloes
7. Section 10 of the Principal Act is amended—
(a) by omitting from paragraph (1) (c) “$3.00”
and substituting “$5.00”; and
(b) by omitting from sub-section (2) “$1.50”
and substituting “$3.00”.
Rate of charge on export of goats
8. Section 11 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from
sub-section (2) “15” and substituting “30”.
Regulations
9. Section 13 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from
sub-sections (3) and (4) “Exporter and Abattoir” and substituting “Live-stock
Exporters”.
