Litter (Amendment) Act 1991

An Act to amend the Litter Act 1977

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

Short title

1.  This Act may be cited as the Litter (Amendment) Act 1991.

Principal Act

2.  In this Act, “Principal Act” means the Litter Act 1977.1

Littering prohibited

3.  Section 3 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the penalty at the foot of that section and substituting the following penalty:

“Penalty—

(a)if the litter is likely to cause injury to persons or damage to property—$2,000; or

(b)in any other case—$250.”.
