1  Name

This instrument is the List of Migratory Species Amendment (Orcaella Species Name Update) Instrument 2018.

2  Commencement

This instrument commences the day the instrument is registered.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under section 209(6) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

4  Schedules

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Declaration under s209 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 - List of Migratory Species (13/07/2000)

1  Mammals

Omit “Orcaella brevirostris”, substitute “Orcaella heinsohni”

2  Mammals, after ‘Orcaella heinsohni”

Insert:

“Note: The Orcaella heinsohni (the Australian Snubfin Dolphin) was previously included as part of the listing for the Orcaella brevirostris (the Irrawaddy Dolphin).”
