The Australian Capital Territory Executive makes the following regulations under the Liquor Act 1975.

  1. Commencement

    These regulations commence on the day they are notified in the Gazette.

  2. Regulations amended

    These regulations amend the Liquor Regulations 1979.

  3. Prescribed times for sale or supply of liquor

    Regulation 3A is amended by inserting after subregulation (3) the following subregulations:

“(3A) Subregulation (1) and paragraph (3) (a) do not apply—

(a)on 1 January 2000; and

(b)on 25 April in any year.

“(3B) Subregulation (2) and paragraph (3) (b) do not apply—

(a)on 31 December 1999; and

(b)on 1 January 2000.

“(3C) For paragraph 26 (b), section 28 and paragraph 29 (2) (b) of the Act, the prescribed times are—

(a)on 31 December 1999—between 7 am and midnight; and

(b)on 1 January 2000—until 11 pm.

“(3D) For paragraph 29A (a) of the Act, the prescribed times at which a special licence must not authorise the sale of liquor for consumption away from the licensed premises are—

(a)on 31 December 1999—until 7 am; and

(b)on 1 January 2000—between 11 pm and midnight.

“(3E) Paragraph (3A) (a) and subregulations (3B), (3C) and (3D) cease to have effect on 2 January 2000.”.

  1. Prescribed public places

    Regulation 11 is amended by omitting from subregulation (5) “during Sunday 21 March 1999” and substituting “on Sunday 19 March 2000”.
