The Australian Capital Territory Executive makes the following Regulations under the Liquor Act 1975.

Commencement

1.  These Regulations commence on the day on which they are notified in the Gazette.

Principal Regulations

2.  In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Liquor Regulations.

Interpretation

3.  Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from subregulations (2) and (3) “the Schedule” and substituting “Schedule 1”.

Prescribed public places

4.  Regulation 11 of the Principal Regulations is amended by adding at the end the following subregulations:

“(4)  For the purposes of paragraph (c) of the definition of ‘prescribed public place’ in subsection 84 (3) of the Act, so much of the area shown on the map in Schedule 2 as is—

(a)a public place;

(b)within the area delineated by the heavy black line on that map; and

(c)outside an area fenced off for the purposes of the Food, Wine and All That Jazz event conducted by Canberra Festival Incorporated that generally corresponds with the largest area of hatching delineated on that map;

is declared to be a public place to which section 84 of the Act applies.

“(5) The public place specified in subregulation (4) shall be taken to be a public place to which section 84 of the Act applies only during Sunday 19 March 1995.”.

Heading to Schedule

5.  The heading to the Schedule to the Principal Regulations is omitted and the following heading substituted:

schedule 1”.

Addition

6.  The Principal Regulations are amended by adding at the end the following Schedule:
