The Australian Capital Territory Executive makes the following Regulations under the Liquor Act 1975.

Commencement

1.  These Regulations commence on the day on which they are notified in the Gazette.

Prescribed public places

2.  Regulation 11 of the Liquor Regulations is amended—

(a)by omitting from subregulation (2) “Tuesday 26 December 1995” and “Monday 1 January 1996” and substituting “Wednesday 25 December 1996” and “Monday 30 December 1996” respectively; and

(b)by adding at the end the following subregulations:

“(9)  For the purposes of paragraph (c) of the definition of ‘prescribed public place’ in subsection 84 (3) of the Act, the following public places are declared to be public places to which section 84 of the Act applies:

(a)any land enclosed within the perimeter comprising the western edge of Federation Mall, the southern edge of Queen Victoria Terrace, the eastern edge of Federation Mall and the northern edge of Parliament Drive:

(b)any land, not referred to in paragraph (a), enclosed within the perimeter comprising the eastern edge of Commonwealth Avenue, the southern edge of State Circle, the western edge of Kings Avenue and the northern edge of Parliament Drive.

“(10) The public places specified in subregulation (9) shall be taken to be public places to which section 84 of the Act applies only during the period commencing at 12 o’clock noon on Thursday 10 October 1996 and ending at 12 o’clock noon on Sunday 13 October 1996. ”.
