The Australian Capital Territory Executive makes the following regulations under the Liquor Act 1975.

  1. Commencement

    These regulations commence on the commencement of section 2 of the Liquor Amendment Act 2000.

  2. Regulations amended

    These regulations amend the Liquor Regulations 1979.

  3. Definition

    Regulation 2 is amended by inserting the following definition:

    beer means liquor—

    (a)    that is beer, ale, lager, pilsener, porter, stout or any other fermented malt liquor or any fermented liquor made from hops; or

    (b)    that for the purposes of sale is held out to be beer.”.

  4. Insertion

    After regulation 3A the following regulation is inserted:

3B    Sale of beer in glass bottles

For subsections 45 (2), 47 (2), 48 (3) and 49 (2) of the Act, the sale of beer in glass bottles is not authorised between 12 noon and 11 pm on 31 December 2000.”.
