Liquor and Accommodation Amendment Regulations 2008

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Liquor Licensing Act 1990 .26 May 2008

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Liquor and Accommodation Amendment Regulations 2008 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Liquor and Accommodation Regulations 2003 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Regulation 1 amended (Short title) Regulation 1 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "and Accommodation" and substituting "Licensing". 5Regulation 3 amended (Club licence) Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows: (a) by omitting from subregulation (1)(b) "liquor; and" and substituting "liquor."; (b) by omitting paragraph (c) from subregulation (1) ; (c) by omitting from subregulation (2)(b) "or invitee"; (d) by inserting the following paragraph after paragraph (b) in subregulation (2) : (ba) a visitor to the club; (e) by omitting paragraphs (f) and (g) from subregulation (2) .

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation) These regulations amend the

(a) making minor changes to the categories of persons to whom liquor may be sold under a club licence; and (b) simplifying the provisions governing the grant of a club licence; and (c) bringing the title of the regulations into line with the title of the Act.
