Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to allow certain hotels and clubs to trade for extended periods on the days regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Liquor Amendment (Special Events Extended Trading)
Regulation (No 2) 2016.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Liquor Regulation 2008

Clause 38A

Omit the clause. Insert instead:

38A Extended trading for hotels and clubs

(1)

For the purposes of section 13 of the Act, the following periods are prescribed as periods during which liquor may be sold or supplied for consumption on the premises to which a hotel licence or club licence relates:

(a)

the period of 6 hours from 4 am until 10 am on 21 August 2016 (but only if the licensee ensures that a live broadcast of the 2016 Olympic Games women’s basketball final and men’s soccer final is shown on the licensed premises during that period),

(b)

the period of 1 hour from 4 am until 5 am on 22 August 2016 (but only if the licensee ensures that a live broadcast of the 2016 Olympic Games men’s basketball final is shown on the licensed premises during that period),

(c)

the period of 2 hours from 10 pm until midnight on 2 October 2016.

(2) Subclause (1) (a) and (b) does not apply to hotels or club premises that
are subject to the lock out period under clause 53C or 53Y.
