Liquor Amendment (Special Events Extended Trading) Regulation 2018

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following
Regulation under the Liquor Act 2007.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to prescribe extended trading periods during which hotels and clubs may sell or supply liquor for consumption on their premises because of the occurrence of certain special events. This Regulation also corrects references to the names of certain outlaw motorcycle gangs.
This Regulation is made under the Liquor Act 2007, including sections 13, 116I and 159 (the general regulation-making power).

1 Name of Regulation
This Regulation is the Liquor Amendment (Special Events Extended Trading)
Regulation 2018.
2 Commencement
This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.
3 Amendment of Liquor Regulation 2008
(1) Clause 38A Omit the clause. Insert instead:
38A Extended trading for hotels and clubs For the purposes of section 13 of the Act, the following periods are prescribed as periods during which liquor may be sold or supplied for consumption on the premises to which a hotel licence or club licence relates:
(a)
the period of 2 hours from 10 pm to midnight on 8 April 2018 (but only for hotels or clubs providing a live broadcast of the Commonwealth Games during that period),
(b)
the period of 1 hour from 10 pm to 11 pm on 15 April 2018 (but only for hotels or clubs providing a live broadcast of the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony during that period).
(2) Clause 53N Exclusion of persons from subject premises Omit “No Surrender and Outlaws,” from clause 53N (2) (a). Insert in appropriate order “No Surrender,” and “Outlaws,”.
