An Ordinance to amend the Liquor Ordinance 1975

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Ordinance under the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910.

LIQUOR ( A M E N D M E N T ) O R D I N A N C E (No. 3) 1979
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Liquor (Amendment) Ord­

inance (No. 3) 1979.1

2. In this Ordinance, "Principal Ordinance" means the Liquor

Ordinance 197 5.2

3. Section 34 of the Principal Ordinance is amended—

(a ) by omitting from sub-section (3) "issue or renewal" and

" ( 2 ) The Registrar shall not renew a Club Licence—
(a) in the case of a licence issued before 1 June 1979—unless the applicant club, on the day immediately preceding the day on which the application for renewal was made, had not less than 150 financial members who had attained
the age of 18 years; or

substituting " issue"; and

(b)

by omitting from sub-section (3) "o r renewal, as the case may b e " .

4. Section 38 of the Principal Ordinance is amended—

(a) by inserting " , subject to sub-section ( 2 ) , " af ter"shal l" ; and
(b) by adding at the end thereof the following sub-section:

(b)

in the case of a licence issued on or after 1 June 1979— unless the applicant club, on the day immediately pre­ ceding the day on which the application for renewal was made, had not less than 200 financial members who had attained the age of 18 years. ' ' .
