LIQUOR (AMENDMENT) ACT

Act No. 78, 1967.

An Act to make further provision with respect to the sale and supply of l iquor; for this purpose to amend the Liquor Act, 1912, as amended by subsequent Acts; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to , 14th December, 1967.]

BE	it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as
follows: —

1. This Act may be cited as the "Liquor (Amendment)

Act, 1967".

2. The Liquor Act, 1912, as amended by subsequent

Acts, is amended—

(a) by inserting next after subsection three of section

57A the following new subsection :—

(4) Notwithstanding anything contained in this section, where the thirty-first day of December is a Sunday, this section shall operate with respect to the hours between nine o'clock in the evening and twelve o'clock midnight on that day, and with respect to the extension of a permit, in the same manner and to the same extent as it operates with respect to the hours between ten o'clock in the evening and twelve o'clock midnight, and with respect to the extension of permits, on any day other than a day specified in paragraphs (a) and (b) of subsection one of section fifty-seven of this Act.

(b) by inserting next after subsection six of section 57B the following new subsection :—

(7) Notwithstanding anything contained in this section, where the thirty-first day of December is a Sunday, this section and subsection three of section

57A of this Act (as amended by this section) shall

operate with respect to the hours between nine o'clock in the evening on that day and three o'clock in the morning on the following day in the same manner and to the same extent as they operate with respect to the hours between ten o'clock in the

paragraphs (a) and (b) of subsection one of evening on any day (not being a day specified in
section fifty-seven of this Act) and three o'clock in the morning on the following day.
(c)	(i) by inserting in subsection four of section 78K after the word "Act" the words "(except any Sunday on which the thirty-first day of Decem­ ber falls)";

(ii)

(ii)   by inserting in paragraph (a) of subsection (4A) of the same section after the word "Act" where firstly occurring the words ", but includ­ ing any Sunday on which the thirty-first day of December falls";

(iii)   by inserting in paragraph (b) of the same sub­ section after the word "Act" the words ", other than any Sunday on which the thirty- first day of December falls";

(d) by inserting in subparagraph (i) of paragraph (b) of subsection one of section 78L after the word "Act," the words "other than any Sunday on which the thirty-first day of December falls,".
