AN ACT to amend the Liquor Act, 1970-1978.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Liquor Act ztart title

Section 6

amended.

2. Subsection (1) of section 6 of the principal Act

is amended

(a)

by deleting the word "or" at the end of paragraph (hb); and

(b)

by deleting the passage "vineyard." at the end of paragraph (i) and substituting the following passage

vineyard; or

the sale or supply of liquor at a function conducted for the purposes of training persons for employment in the catering industry at a tertiary educational institution approved of by the Minister charged with the administration of the Education Act, 1928.

Section 30

amended.

3. Subsection (1) of section 30 of the principal Act is repealed and the following subsection is substituted

(1) A cabaret licence authorises the licensee to sell and supply liquor, on the premises, for consumption on the premises, only, with or ancillary to entertainment provided by an artist or artists, present and performing in person between the hours of nine in the evening

(a)

on a weekday, and half-past three in the morning of the following day, notwithstanding that the following day is a Sunday, Christmas Day, Good Friday, or Anzac Day; and

(b)

on a Sunday falling on the thirty-first day of December in any year, and half- past three in the morning of the following day. .

Section 35

amended.

4. Subsection (1) of section 35 of the principal Act is amended by adding after the word "members" in lines five and six of paragraph (ea) the words "and the guests of members".
