AN ACT to amend section one hundred and nine

of the Liquor Act, 1970-1972 in consequence

upon the repeal of the Tourist Act, 1959-1970.

[Assented to 17th December, 1973.]

RE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Liquor Act Short title

and citation.

Amendment Act, 1973.

(2) In this Act the Liquor Act, 1970-1972 is

referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act

may be cited as the Liquor Act, 1970-1973.

Section 109 of the principal Act is amended

(a)

by deleting the passage commencing with the word "Tourist" in line sixteen of sub- section (2) and ending with the passage "1959." in the last line of subsection (2), and substituting the passage "Treasurer."; and

(b)

by adding after subsection (2) the following subsection

(3) A certificate given by the Court under subsection (2) of this section is sufficient authority for the Treasurer to render financial assistance to the owner or licensee to whom the certificate relates, by guaranteeing, under, and in accord- ance with, the provisions of the Industry (Advances) Act, 1947, any advance made to the owner or licensee for the purposes of this section. .
