Lighthouses and Light Dues Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE ADMINISTRATOR of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Lighthouses Act 1911.

Vessels exempted

Regulation 20 of the Lighthouses and Light Dues Regulations is amended:

(a) by omitting from paragraph (1) (i) “or” (last occurring);

(b) by adding at the end of subregulation (1) the following word and paragraph:

“; or (k) a sailing ship the tonnage of which is less than 500.”; and

(c) by omitting subregulations (2), (3) and (4) and substituting the following subregulation:

“(2) In this regulation:

‘Load Line Convention’ has the same meaning as in Part IV of the Navigation Act 1912;

‘tonnage length’, in relation to a ship, means the length of the ship for the purposes of the Load Line Convention as in force at the commencement of this subregulation with respect to Australia.”.
