Life Insurance Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Life Insurance Act 1945.

1. Amendment

1.1 The Life Insurance Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

2. Regulation 29 (Substantial compliance with certain forms sufficient)

2.1 Omit the regulation, substitute:

Fees for inspection and copying of documents—section 141

“29. (1) For the purposes of section 141 of the Act, the prescribed fee for inspecting a document referred to in that section is $10.

“(2) The Commissioner must:

(a) on the request of a person; and

(b) on payment of the fee calculated in accordance with subregulation (3);

provide the person with a copy of the whole or part of a document referred to in section 141 of the Act.

“(3) The fee payable under subregulation (2) is:

(a) an amount calculated at the rate of $1 for each page of a copy of the whole or part of the document; or

(b) if, at the request of the person, the copy of the document is made available in electronic form—an amount calculated at the rate of $1 for each page of the whole or part of the document that is provided in that form.”.

3. The Schedules

3.1 Omit the heading “THE SCHEDULES”.
