132 QuallslaU4 ANNO VICESIMO SEPTIMO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 17 of 1978 An Act to amend the LifeAssurance Companies Act1901-1974 in certain particulars [ASSENTED TO 2ND JUNE, 19781 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Life Assurance Companies Act Amendment Act 1978. (2) In this Act the Life Assurance Companies Act1901-1974 is referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Life Assurance Companies Act1901-1978. 2. Amendment of s. 39. Section 39 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from paragraphs (a) and (b) of subsection (1) the words " one thousand pounds " and substituting in each case the expression $6000". 3. Amendment of s. 44 . Section 44 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from the first paragraph of subsection (3) the words " five hundred pounds " and substituting the expression " $3 000 ". 4. Amendments of other sections . The sections of the Principal Act referred to in the first column of the Schedule to this Act are amended by omitting therefrom the word or words referred to in the second column and substituting therefor the expression referred to in the third column. 5. Amendment of Seventh Schedule. The SEVENTH SCHEDULE to the Principal Act is amended by in paragraphs 5 and 12 of the form headed " Statement respecting the valuation of the Liabilities under Life Policies and Annuities of the to be made by the Actuary." omitting the expression " £100 " wherever it occurs and substituting in each case the expression " $1 000 ".

The NINTH SCHEDULE to the Principal Act is amended by omitting the words " four pounds " wherever they occur and substituting in each case the expression " $4 ". 7. Amendments of Schedules .
