An Act to confirm certain Licenses granted under the authori ty of an Act to regulate the gran t ing of Licenses for the Sale of Spirits Ale Beer and other Liquors in New South Wales and Van Diemen's Land res­ pectively and two others amending the same.

by an Ac t of H i s Excel lency the Governor of N e w
on t he e igh th day of F e b r u a r y in th i s present year of our Lord one

t housand e ight h u n d r e d and twenty-five in t i tu led " An Act to regulate " the granting of Licenses for the Sale of Spirits Ale Beer and other " Liquors in New South Wales and Van Diemen's Land respectively " i t is amongs t o ther t h ings enacted t h a t before any License as the re in ment ioned shal l be g ran ted a certificate to t h e form and effect there in­ after ment ioned shal l be obta ined from t h e Jus t i ces of t h e Peace in Q u a r t e r Sessions or by special appo in tmen t assembled on t h e n ine teen th day of F e b r u a r y t h e n nex t ensu ing and on t h e first Thursday in every m o n t h of M a r c h in every following year w i th in t h e dis t r ic t or town­ ship neares t to t h e house in tended to be m a d e a publ ic-house as aforesaid and t h a t no such certificate shall be valid unless t h e J u s t i c e of t h e Peace l iv ing neares t to t he said house shall have signed t h e same or have signified in wr i t i ng his approval thereof A n d whereas in g r a n t i n g

some of t h e Licenses unde r t h e said Ac t t h e said provision r equ i r i ng
t h e s igna tu re or approval of t he J u s t i c e of t h e Peace l iving neares t

to t h e house to be licensed has been inadver ten t ly disregarded N o w therefore for remedy thereof be i t enacted by H i s Excel lency t h e Governor of N e w Sou th W a l e s wi th t h e advice of t he Counci l t h a t every License g ran ted unde r t h e said A c t shal l be val id a l t h o u g h t h e aforesaid certificate shal l no t have been signed nor any approval thereof signified in wr i t ing as in and by t h e said A c t is requi red Provided a lways t h a t no such License as las t aforesaid shal l be valid

if t h e person or persons ob ta in ing or ho ld ing t h e same shall have

been refused a License by any J u s t i c e or Jus t i ces au thor i sed to g r a n t Licenses as aforesaid a t any t ime wi th in two years from t h e day

appoin ted for l icensing as last aforesaid.
