t h e

" An Act for repealing the Laics now in force relative to the licensing

" and regulating of Public-houses and for the better regulating and " granting of Licenses for the Sale of Ale Beer Wine Spirits and other " Liquors in New South Wales in future " i t is among other t h i n g s enacted Tha t from and after t h e commencement of t h e said A c t no per­ son or persons whatsoever shal l sell or re ta i l any ale beer wine cyder b r a n d y r u m or any other s t rong fermented or sp i r i tuous l iquors in N e w South W a l e s in less quan t i t y t h a n five gal lons w i t h o u t first ob ta in ing a License wh ich shal l be valid for one year or u n t i l t h e nex t l icensing day a n d no longer A n d whereas i t is expedient to pro long t h e t e r m for which all Licenses were g ran ted in t he year one t housand e ight h u n ­ dred a n d twen ty -n ine B e it therefore enacted by H i s Excel lency

M a r c h ins tan t n e x t or un t i l such o ther day as shal l hereafter be by some L a w or Ordinance to be passed for such purpose l imited and appointed for t h e commencement of Licenses for t h e present year A n d i t shall be lawful for all persons ho ld ing such Licenses on t h e said first day of th i s m o n t h to sell and retai l and to con t inue to sell and retai l ale beer wine cyder b randy r u m and all o ther s t rong fermented

t h e Legis la t ive Counci l Tha t all Licenses for keeping publ ic-houses

which were g ran ted in t h e year one t housand e ight h u n d r e d and twen ty -n ine a n d which were in force on t h e first day of t h e presen t m o n t h of M a r c h shal l be a n d t h e same are hereby declared

to be and to con t inue to be in full force un t i l t h e thi r ty-f i rs t day of
fermented or sp i r i tuous l iquors in v i r tue of such Licenses u n t i l t h e

said thir ty-f i rs t day of M a r c h ins t an t or u n t i l such o ther day as shal l hereafter be l imited and appointed as aforesaid any t h i n g con­

ta ined in t h e said reci ted Ac t to t he con t ra ry no twi ths t and ing .

2. A n d be i t fu r ther enacted T h a t no person who held a License to keep a publ ic-house on the said first day of t h e presen t m o n t h of M a r c h shall be chargeable w i th viola t ing any of t h e pro­ visions of the said recited Ac t in consequence of his or he r hav ing sold or retai led ale beer wine cyder b randy r u m or o ther s t rong fermented or sp i r i tuous l iquors be tween the said first day of th i s ins tan t m o n t h of March and the said thir ty-f irs t day of t he same or such o the r day as shall be hereafter l imi ted and appointed as afore­ said for t h e commencemen t of Licenses for t he presen t year any t h i n g
